Which armor is best?

[:1]I have a WW Barbarian.

I have both Iceblink and Silks of the Victor. The first one would help freeze enemies but the other leeches mana.

Which one would be best?|||They're both pretty low lvl and not the best options for a low lvl barb imo, but they're not completely **** either. Since you are asking wether to use Iceblink or Silks of the Victor I will assume you do not have access to better items and are around lvl 30-40. That means you have still not managed to max out WW. If those are your two best options I also will assume you have little to no manaleech on your other equip.

WW can be pretty mana intensive without decent leech and at low lvls the +1 skills from Silks of the Victor can help out alot more than Iceblink.

I would without a doubt go for Silks of the Victor since it has manaleech and +1 skills. Freezing enemies are not very important for a WW barb. Others might disagree tho.|||Yeah, if you have no other mana leech, definitely go for Silks. What's the point of having the freeze if you can't even use WW for lack of mana?|||What other mana leech equipment would be enough/adequate in my situation? I'm level 52 and have maxed WW.

I also have 2 Cleavers of the Bat. Both have 7% mana steal but WW still drains after 1-2 whirls.|||X% Damage taken Goes to Mana is another way to get back substantial quantities of mana. Angelic Wing, Tal Rasha Belt/Nightsmoke, and Ith runes are all good sources of this.

At your level, you should really be looking into getting some better gear. Even if you're not trading, I would still recommend running NM countess until you get some runes for decent stuff; Lionheart/Smoke/Treachery would probably help you out, and an Insight for your merc would go a long way to solving your mana issues.|||You guys weren't lying about Insight. That's a sexy, sexy runeword. I used it for the first time in SP yesterday, and my merc is a maniac now.|||I would suggest Manald Heal, it's a cheap ring but quite good.|||Not only is insight a good weapon for your merc, but it's killer as a WW weapon for your barb!

Many folks are hyped up on the meditation aura (for good reason), and tend to overlook the other stats on the RW that are quite melee friendly. especially if your running solo.

1) +200-260% Enhanced Damage - Very nice damage for min level 27 (highest Rune in the RW)

2) +9 To Minimum Damage - extra gravy

3) 180-250% Bonus to Attack Rating - huge bonus! reduces your dependency on items with +AR. not that you should ignore them

4) +1-6 To Critical Strike - extra chance for a critical strike (it emulates the amazon skill, adds to your weapon mastery % iirc - could be wrong on that part)

5) 23% Better Chance of Getting Magic Items - Just a little bit extra kick when killing bosses

plus it has a tiny bit of elemental damage (the poison keeps mobs from regenerating, eliminates the need for poison charms in your inventory), and a few other mods too. when you chock it all up, it's one heckuva melee polearm for dirt cheap.

farm act 1 NM for a white partizan and use the socket quest in act 5 (the Ilvl in a1 NM will give max 4 sockets). throw in the runes and you have a lvl 27 polearm that can do close to 300 damage before double damage factors in. it's a very potent weapon that is often overshadowed by the aura. It's only downside is lack of WIAS. you won't be winning any speed awards with this one. but if yoru comparing it to other like-level options, it's still quite a bargain.

Of course, having an aura that guarantees a full mana bulb would be well worth it, even if those other bonuses weren't there. But unless your carvers are really nice, I'd consider switching the poley over to your barb. An upped Shael'd ribcracker is actually not at all bad for a WW Barb. I haven't played SC in almost a year, but my last SC character used that, and was able to do Travincal without anything else _too_ rare. Doesn't compare to dual-griefs or anything, but it's pretty good.
