What merc for Barb?

For a Barb, what would be the ideal mercenary and why?

Hard to say which is ideal without knowing your build and your items. Rogue with Fana aura or Act2 might merc are both good.

Avoid any cold damage if you are gold-finding barb.



Basic (cheap) setup that works. Surely high end runewords give little more, but not that much.

Act 2 might merc (gives damage aura)

Reaper's Toll weapon (gives Decrepify curse, boost damage even more, gives life leech so Guillaume helmet can be used, that curse also removes some PI, so berserk are not needed so often)

Guillaume helmet (gives crushing blow and 15% deadly strike)

Threachery armor (fade gives max resist for merc and 15% damage reduced and 45 ias gives nice attack speed for merc)|||What if it were say, a frenzy focused barb?|||If you're conc or berserk you might want to go for a rogue with Faith, else go with what DH said.|||Pride with an Act 2 Mercenary works also. Remember, if you use Faith, you'll need an Act 1 Mercenary, meaning that you won't get the Act 2 Mercenary bonus aura.|||If you are making a frenzy barb with the ubers in mind, don't get reliant on a merc--whatever you have will die in a hurry. The larger point being, you should be fine without a merc. I'd focus any extra resources on improving your gear and forget about spending anything on a merc. A barb--especially one that can do ubers, which frenzy barbs can--doesn't need one.

act 1 brand merc(Very unstable!!)

act 2 reapers might merc

act 2 pride might merc
