Well, finally decided to respec my barb to frenzy to try his hand at ubers. His gear setup so far is:
Arreats Face - ith in socket right now, but replaceable. Have Guilliams Face as backup if needed.
CoH
Goblin toes (have War's available, wearing goblins for now-assume either for build)
Verdungo's
Steelrends/Draculs (will use my Dracul's for Ubers)
Raven/Carrion wind rings
High lord's ammy
Various Charms for resists, +ar, etc.
Weapons:
Currently using EBotD in a CB for WW. I can use this one handed given my choices on other weapons.
Other options available:
Grief in Phase Blade (nothing special, 355+ damage or so)
Doom in Zerker (got this one on a weird trade, have yet to use it)
Stormlash
Azurewrath
Also have a 5soc Zerker available for other RW's. a Death is possible (tho i might be missing a rune, prob can trade for it). second grief perhaps as well, but then I would end up with a grief in PB and a zerker, an odd combo.
My concern is the combinations available. I've pretty much maxed out my options, so figuring out what is best with what I have. My concern, as you can tell, is the oddball mix of weapon types that could conflict with my mastery choice. Do I stick with sword mastry and equip the grief in the OH and run BotD in MH? or do I run with grief/azurewrath, or make a death in the Zerker and run doom in OH? or do I mix them up and risk the reduction in AR on the off-weapon (such as using BotD in MH, and stormlash in OH, and run sword mastery, hence the lash would suffer for damage and AR).
My initial thought was stick with Sword mastry and use BotD in MH, grief in OH, and sub in Guilliam's for Arreats to make up for lack of crush blow. My logic is that the extra AR from mastery is more important then the CB from a non mastery off-hand. sucks to lose all the buffs from arreat's for lack of CB, but to get CB from another of my weapons would involve (at least right now) a conflict of masteries. But, if you experienced Uber runners have better ideas, let me know.|||grief + lawbringer !
decrep them !
chop them into pieces !|||Quote:

dude I cant thank you enough for having the courage to say what needed to be said... grief is indeed nothing special!! no need at all for grief in ubers, may I recommend ebotdz+edeathz - great combo esp for ubers!!!|||Hehe thanks for the replyz guyz
I agree Kronic...I've always been a fan of different weapon styles. Even though my current is a 2h sword, I really miss my mace (it just looks cool on a barb).
I was very tempted to try that lawbringer shark the decrep on that thing is just sick (may still make one for my pally to wear on switch for PI's...though once he hits 85 the azurewrath will take care of that in spades). I was worried about the decrep overshadowing my life tap, which will be paramount to my attempts (HC doesn't leave me with allot of wiggle room).
Ill have to look at the death too...very tempted to throw one together, just need to find another 5 soc PB to put it in :P got a zerker axe available, but my BotD is a sword. So what the recommendations on weapon type setup? is getting the right mods/RW setup more important then making sure both weapons match your mastery? I have the 5 soc zerker now, I'd have to hunt a 5 so PB down if i wanted to keep with the sword mastery tho.|||Quote:

ebotdz is horrible swap that out for beastz. cb and ow mod are gozu for ubers. Also consider fanat adding to edeathz side.|||Personally I prefer Grief phase blade + Last wish for Uburs for all the defensive mods and crushing blow needs.
I normally run Grief + Lawbringer for general PVM
And always use the weapons that match your mastery since those that dont match will have a harder time hitting and worse damage overall.|||Quote:

I agree with sticking with the weapon type for your mastery. I already have the BotD, and it will do fine as a MW. Not as offensive as grief, but very nice general stats. For ubers Ill probably go with LW in OH simply so I don't have to worry about CB and Lifetap.
I do have a Lawbringer, but it's in a scepter :P (was my pallys). runes are pretty cheap tho, may keep my eyes open for a PB to put it in (keep my speed up, no ED on the RW so no reason to have a high base damage weapon)
Only downside to Lawbringer is it seriously cuts down on my top damage. grief could keep up, but with my BotD in a Cb right now, my top end is pretty high when im swinging 2h (12k for conc, 11k for Ww right now). This may change tho once i respec Frenzy (haven't done it yet), sicne ill ahve to go with 2 weapons anyways.
What was your reason for switching over to Lawbringer from Last wish for solo work? is it for the decrep? that may be a good solution, and leave my merc open for swinging an infinity instead of a reapers toll. hard to argue with more auras |||last wish is overrated. i would rather spend lesser on weapons for ubers. i mean there are other weapons which can easily replace last wish haha
for my own smiter i am using heavens light only =X|||Last wish was perfect for uburs with fade and lifetap.
My reason was pretty much just for the decrep and worked surprisingly well its a pity it doesnt have much damage on itself but I do kill at roughly the same speed regardless once that Decrepify gets cast.|||Quote:

makes sense, and I like the idea myself. having the decrep on my OH opens up my merc for another option so i can finally dorp the reapers toll. and the sanct aura is sorta icing no more issues with undead PI's :P
And I know exactly what you mean sharky Last wish is an issue of accessability. If you have acess to it, it's an awesome weapon. It has mods that open up choice on your other gear a great deal. But due to its cost, it may not be something that you want to shoot for initially. Last wish means I can keep my Arreats Face instead of haing to go with Guil's, and i can sub in a different set of gloves for the dracs (such as LoH for huge damage increase). still need open wounds, so ill probably have to ninja the gores from my pally.
