Amor advise for frenzy barb for ubers

I am trying to make a Frenzy barb to solo the ubers. Never done one before. I have read the COH is best for ubers. While I don't have the pieces currently to make a COH, I have a Duress in Chaos Armor. Is Duress a viable option for solo-ing ubers with a Frenzy barb?

*sirelton|||I highly doubt Duress will do you good with Ubers. Being that I play sp I won't have the "perfect" armor, but I use either Shaftstop (I make all my frenzies HC for some reason) or mabye Black Hades with 3 Ums... thats 45 resists. I don't have a COH and really don't feel like finding a white armor or grey armor... It should work better due to more resists. Although, skill +'s are nice for NR so I'd reccomend a few of em.|||Smoke

Nef Lum

+75% Enhanced Defense

+280 Defense Vs. Missile

All Resistances +50

20% Faster Hit Recovery

Level 6 Weaken (18 Charges)

+10 To Energy

-1 To Light Radius

Lionheart

Hel + Lum + Fal

+20% Enhanced Damage

Requirements -15%

+25 To Strength

+10 To Energy

+20 To Vitality

+15 To Dexterity

+50 To Life

All Resistances +30

Both of those armors would be better choices than black hades/duress.

Duress will do fine for uburs providing you can get enough resists elsewhere but really you should try to get the crushing blow on the weapons/boots slot and let the armor give you most of the resists.|||Duress is actually a pretty good option for the Ubers if you can get your resists elsewhere. It's got some nice offensive mods.|||I guess it's all about resistences. Well, if this helps, This is the rest of my gear:

Arreats (Ber'd)

Highlords Ammy

Drac's

Gores

String of ears (8%LL)

Ravens Ring

(Looking for other ring possible tri-res)

Anni 12/19

As for weapons, I still need good ones. I want to use axes and currently am using twin Razortails. I am working toward getting an EBOTDZ and an EDeathZ. However, if there are better ideas out there for this I welcome the input.

I can currently max out res in hell, but I hear that with the ubers, it gets ratcheted up another notch. So I am not quite sure if I truly have enough.

Thanks again.

*sirelton|||Well as you can see the rest of your gear barely meets hell resistance levels let alone after Mephs conviction.

19 all Anni

20 all Arreats

60 all NR

15 all Armor

Extra

35 light

30 cold

Uburs needs alot more than 114 all resistances to be comfortable near meph.

-100 Hell

-125 Mephs conviction

So you need at least 300 all resistances to be able to walk smoothly through ubur trist with 75 all resists.

Most players aim for around 200 all resists minimum, Any less and you can get annihilated by Mephisto's charged bolt attack in one shot which in trist can mean the end of the run and a lost torch.|||Hi all! This is kind of off-topic but it's a frenzy related barbarian question too, and pertaining to equipment, so might as well ask here. My single player barbarian is lvl 76 at the moment and I'm starting in hell difficulty after depleting most of the xp from nightmare WSK. The problem is that I'm in desperate need of new weapons. I am currently dualwielding a Bloodletter and the Atlantean which I found while doing nightmare Mephisto runs. They aren't a bad pair of offensive tools, but they are like lvl40 weapons so I think they are dragging my barbarian's progress. For example I found a colossal blade with 3 sockets yesterday, which seems like a good choice for a runeword.

I have been checking the Arreat Summit website for the easily attainable runewords, but I just don't know if any of them are worth investing runes into. Some of them just seem rather pointless to be honest. What's the general consensus? Keep in mind this is a single player character, so I'd basically have to attain the weapons/runes myself. The Honor runeword seems like an easy one and has some nice mods, like 25% deadly strike and +1 to all skills.

On the other hand I have around 420% magic find, so doing nightmare Mephisto or Baal MF runs might be a viable option too.|||Passion (4 socket weapons) - Dol - Ort - Eld - Lem

+25% Increased Attack Speed

+160-210% Enhanced Damage (varies)

50-80% Bonus To Attack Rating (varies)

+75% Damage To Undead

+50 To Attack Rating Against Undead

Adds 1-50 Lightning Damage

+1 To Berserk

+1 To Zeal

Hit Blinds Target +10

Hit Causes Monster To Flee 25%

75% Extra Gold From Monsters

Level 3 Heart of Wolverine (12 Charges)

Makes hell doable if made in an elite weapon though it is by no means fast. Good ol' chop chop.

If, on the other hand, you can find en eth 4 socket Sword/mace/axe you could try Oath: Shael-Pul-Mal-Lum, provided of course that you have the runes.

30% Chance To Cast Level 20 Bone Spirit On Striking

Indestructible

+50% Increased Attack Speed

+210-340% Enhanced Damage (varies)

+75% Damage To Demons

+100 To Attack Rating Against Demons

Prevent Monster Heal

+10 To Energy

+10-15 Magic Absorb (varies)

Level 16 Heart Of Wolverine (20 Charges)

Level 17 Iron Golem (14 Charges)

Be aware that it's ED% roll is subject to quite some chance. If you get a high end roll you're looking at 355% ED and 50% IAS in an eth weapon. Poor man's BOTD.

Crescent Moon isn't a bad bet either. Shael+Um+Tir in Axe/Sword/polearm:

10% Chance To Cast Level 17 Chain Lightning On Striking

7% Chance To Cast Level 13 Static Field On Striking

+20% Increased Attack Speed

+180-220% Enhanced Damage (varies)

Ignore Target's Defense

-35% To Enemy Lightning Resistance

25% Chance of Open Wounds

+9-11 Magic Absorb (varies)

+2 To Mana After Each Kill

Level 18 Summon Spirit Wolf (30 Charges)

Would probably rate it over Passion, even though that's slightly cheaper. It's just that Hit Causes Monster To Flee is incredibly annoying at times, though it can be decent when you want to disperse some crowds.|||I usually put 15% res jewel in my Arreat's. (15 res) or the ever popular 15%/30%+ ED jewel (I have several lieing around).

I've heard that Azurewrath is a great FrenzyBarb wep. Mine uses Lightsabres (not so great but only when I use swords) But they get the job done. You'd have 2 sockets to play with (15%/30%+ ED jewel) Which would, if you do the same for Arreat's, give you +45 res all. So, you'd go from 114 to 159. Also, you could sacrifice the Highlord's (risky but still) for (a hopefully high rolled) Mara's pref 30%. Then you'd have 189%. Close to 200 but still not perfect res under Conviction. Assuming you have 1 hard point in NR and you go up to 10 in it from skill +'s that is an extra 54% (checked my Frenzy barb for this) and the you could have 243% res all. Not half bad for a few pieces of equipment.

I have dual BotD's on my FrenzyBarb (but I don't need over 200% res) Also, I like Verdungo's more than SoE b/c of the 32 vit but since you don't need it you could use IK belt. Gives Fire/Lightning Res. Also, if you really like the extra 8% LL then you could always go BK. 5% LL or you can go dual leech rare ring. or just LL ring with res on it...

EDIT: I forgot about another belt, Nosforactu's gives 7% LL and 10% IAS if you must have LL on your belt. Which could take place of Highlords

EDIT2: Also, remember that the NR calc does not add Battle Command (with it's 56%)

And, you could get some mastery GC Skillers (enough for 60% NR w/o BC) and alot of sc res all charms|||Coh would be the best option for resist.
