best budget swords for frenzy (ie pgem fodder)

[:1]hey guys at the mo ive run outta good runes and my frenzy barb is all but ready, got anni, torch, dracs, gores, string of ears, highlords, raven, dwarf star, arreats, ive got smoke in a 9ed ap i found (will eventually be a fort) , but my main question is what are the best cheap swords to use (if you viewed any of my previous threads i only use swords)

im currently using a doombringer gothic sword and flamebellow, i do have an azurewrath but im only 79 got plenty of baal runs to join...

so until i get some HRs what other swords would be better than what i currently have? or what would couple up with azurewrath best once im high enough ?|||oath BB + lawbringer phase blade are what i'm using and i like em.|||what runes do those 2 take ?|||Leave the most important bit of gear for last eh?

Oath and Lawbringer are shael-pul-mal-lum and amn-lem-ko. If you don't already know the runewords I recommend you take a look at the very excellent Runeword Wizard that's in the files section of this forum.|||Azure is great sword. It resolves most PI problems better then lawnbringer - 90% of PI are undead, 10% you can avoid. It is my best sword for UTristram runs.

Uh and yeah Reaper's Toll? It also solves PI problems but it also solves almost ALL problems a barb can have at all! Dont believe me?

Weak merc - get reapers(basically a naked merc with reapers will kick butt)

Low damage - get reapers(merc will kill everything himself and you can just watch the carnage)

Dying often - get reapers(under the cover of decrep, basically no monster is dangerous)

Now to answer your question, swords have surprisingly perhaps the worst elite uniques of the barb weapon classes, so there arent any standouts that do really well(other than possibly azurewrath and doombringer).|||ok guys thanks, is it worth me trading for another azurewrath and having 2 then? i think ive seen one somewhere for pul....|||I do not think that 2 azures is good choice. Azure give you speed, aura which breaks PI, some ele/magic dmg but it have low damage. Second weapon should have high damage and, if you are going to fight agains ubers, CB and DS.

I think that 2 x azure is good only for pidle runs, because all monsters are undead.

You should use Grief, BOTD, Death or even Oath.|||Uhh if you can get those swords theres not much reason to use azures anyway|||grief is pretty doable nowadays, even on a budget. My first HC Barb got Mal on his hell forge, and a 5 soc PB dropped in act 4 or 5 in hell. bam. I've gotten 2 more mal's on random drops this ladder...getting grief shouldn't be too hard. throw it in your MH and have Azurewrath in the OH, very potent combination.

I personally use that combo (except when going against gloams I use my Lightsaber). you really don't need much more then that. Azurwath/Lightsaber could also be a cheap temporary option until you get that Grief.

I'm also a big fan of BotD, but the runes are more difficult on that one, and finding a solid Eth weapon for it seems to be much more difficult for me then getting a PB for grief.
