Help on frenzy barb: reaching the 5fpa

I have almost finished my frenzy barb based on the uber frenzy guide from Spankeh. The main reason for this character is to do ubers.

Ill first start with my current gear:

Arreats Face

CoH

Highlords

2x Raven

Gores

Draculs

SoE

On weapon: eBotDz

Off weapon: eDeathz

Now I noticed that in order to reach the 5fpa breakpoint, I need an additional 25ias, thus adding a 15% ias jewel will not do anything.

An option is to switch the Draculs for LoH, but than I would lose that very nice life tap. Should I leave the life tap and go for the 5fpa or is the 5fpa not that important?

Will this character be able to solo ubers or am I missing something? I've never been at ubers before so I'm quite curious . Do I need to bring a merc with me or do they just die at ubers?

Best regards, Mlchel|||Use Nosferatu's coil in place of String of Ears combined with the 15% ias jewel. You'll lose a little DR and 1% LL, but you'll gain 15 strength and a little slow.|||Because u want to use Dracs for lifetap (very good idea for your first uber run) you loose 20%ias from not using LoH gloves. Like Karth says, using Nosferatu's coil and an ias jewel in arreats helm is a great way to boost ias, but loosing 15% DR from loss of Strings belt will hurt a bit.

Another option is ditching CoH armor (which is a shame since its perfect for a frenzy uber barb) and use Treachery armor. It boosts your ias 45%, adds 15% DR instead of 8% from CoH, but you only get 50% all resists from fade.

Its a very hard choice, and i prefer to not use dracs because of all this.

You may have to swing at 5.5fpa for your first uber which is still going to do well.

Most of all, use howl regularly to push minions away, and get your att rating over 10,000 by using att rating grand charms, otherwise you will swing and swing and be unable to "connect" with uber/s.|||Thanks for the nice tips

I forgot about the nosferatus so I will try this first as it's a cheap solution .

I'll have to start buying some AR charms than as I haven't got any yet.

Regards, Mlchel|||against PvM you dont need dracs, i have a similar build like yours (except Fortitude & crafted gloves). my build have arond %30LL and maxed BO (+6BO daggers on switch) so no need for LifeTap. use a crafted nice CB gloves with 20IAS and IAS jewel on arreats. this should be fine.

against ubers this means you have to hit and lifesteal a lot. then swap gores with IK boots (ar boost) and use dracs. against ubers 5fpa not that important, you probably will kill 3-5 monsters (including ubers, always use howl to scare minions) and exit uber trist game. swap ring&ammy with angelics and AR issue solved. in such case you wont be able to reach 5fpa without treachery and i only use treachery to fade and swap armor always. you can use treachery against baal & diablo but i would suggest to use another res armor (COH, Fortitude, Smoke etc...) and use fade as precast against meph.

on switch use enchant charges (demon limb) and with angelics & AR charms & IK boots, my frenzy barb has 23K ar, pretty enough chance to hit ubers especially baal who always blocks/frenzy misses.|||how about going ww? you'll kill stuff 5 times faster and wont have to drop dracs|||Another option is to break the status quo and use Last Wish in your off hand instead of Dracs. That way you can use LoH, still retain life tap (and better life tap chance at that), 60% CB, and some defensive capabilities. Also Nosferatus coil is the ideal Frenzy Belt, you don't need Damage reduction as your survivability comes from leech and pretty much only leech.

No trouble on any of the ubers. You must howl Mephs minions away or you will not be able to kill him as half your attacks will redirect to a minion.

I personally believe this to be the best possible setup for an Uber Killer. Last Wish is better than most people realize. Most people completely ignore it simply because most guides say to go with Death. Death forces the use of dracs, and thats something I cant tolerate on my Barb.
