I started this BvB about the time I started in the forums here, but I've been mostly MIA for the past year and a half. Right now I'm 98 with about 179,000,000 xp to go. I can't always get into full runs, and I get more xp baaling myself (35,000) then in most games, as it is rare for me to get the final Baal kill. If I join in on full-ish non-baal games and go kill... of course the xp payoff is pretty big- but I feel cheap doing that, so self baaling seems good for me at the moment.
While my setup could be more powerful in terms of kill speed, the Reapers Toll merc helps an awful lot.
Getting Down to Baal:
I use a pair of wizardspike daggers and a 10% FCR ring. I like this max speed so I can get down asap, nice mana boost, 150 to all res stack. Nice on the cheap. I still need to pot here and there, but I'm sticking with Reapers on the merc since my "safety" build slows the killing.
Items:
Enigma : of course
ebotdcb/SS: Safety - lots of leach, full blocking
CoA (Ber/Ber) : I'm just trying this as I nearly died from those exploding guys once. It's a DR% safety. Otherwise I've been all over Guilliams as the CB is awesome.
LoH : These gloves along with Highlords add a lot of damage, fire/light res, new IAS breakpoint for times I need conc.
Highlords : see above.
Gore Riders : Damage
Ring : Cant remember ATM, but it unique with alot of life leach and poison res.
And a full set of GG charms
Maybe at some point I'll see about a greif Phase and some leach, time will tell.

Thanks|||After you clear the second wave, tp out and look around for an xp shrine. Waves 3-5 have enemies that will come to you and should keep you out of baal's decrepify casting radius. Apart from that, if you have any friends on your fl, see if they want to join you for some baal runs as it will benefit both of you.
GL on the max lvl.|||I here Stoney is a good place for xp shrines. However there are curses at times from the other waves. Still, I might try it. What's the % boost offhand?

Thanks, that would be awesome on the Baal kill but he always curses I think. ebotd is alright, if I take off shield the two handed damage is pretty impressive. It's not as safe, but sometimes I do it after I get ready to do the waves. The most dangerous time is tele-down and clearing the throne.|||a stormshield gives 35% dr

so the only moment the CoA 'BerBer' actually might help is when u are amped or decreped and i am not sure in which order the game calculates that.

This is of course correct but I don't tele down with SS out, which is typically where the issues arise.
Oh and by the way I managed to get in a baal kill with the xp shrine and got about 42000 xp just from him. That's pretty sweet when I usually get about 20k - but he cursed me the next try - dammit!|||DR is capped at 50% regardless of circumstances.
I think I have only managed to keep an exp shrine on baal maybe once when I was doing a solo run, its just too tough.
I am surprised that with 105% FCR you are having trouble getting to baal safely. With a sorc or barb at that much FCR you should be fine. Most things shouldn't even be able to hit you if you keep moving. And you should have like 4k life anyways.|||Quote:

Actually I've been in circumstances in a PvP duel, where a 2v1 team on me, 1 barb and 1 sassy where slapping me down even with 50% DR due to an amp curse they kept inflicting on me. When I overstacked with DR%, the amp became useless and they eventually left. This wasn't the only time I've seen stuff like that.
But I would agree otherwise. And I'm actually not trying to overstack.

True but I'm overly paranoid and I get really tired. So there are times when I end up teleporting on a spot and I don't move since I'm not clicking on a movable point. And this is with 5k life so yeah I'm acting like this is HC I guess? lol.
It would be cool to actually dump the SS, and get a Pheonix shield, keep the CoA on and respec the Barb just for the rest of the runs.|||99 is very impressive for a legit, non-bot-following barbarian.
