[:1]I'm thinking about making a travincal runner barb, but cant bring myself to put a shield on a barb, and whirlwind seems too boring.
I'm pretty sure 2 hand berserk can work there, has anyone tried leap attack?
If I end up building a berserker, would like some suggestions on gear. Was thinking about going dr/mdr route, something along the lines of gladiators bane, dual dwarf stars, string of ears. I'm wondering if it's possible to build a dr/mdr build without sacrificing too much damage and and other useful things without paying an arm and a leg (I'm rather poor), or should I just go dr%/resist?.
Out of non weapon slots would like to get a good amount of dr/mdr, good FHR (would like to get to second last breakpoint, 48 if I remember correctly, last if possible), some source of damage taken to mana. Any advice on possible items?
Also a question about berserker builds, is it worth maxing mastery for AR, or is AR good enough and I should go for maxing second berserk synergy?|||I'm sure leap attack would work just fine in trav, no better or worse then other builds. sounds pretty fun actually
Biggest limitation with 2h beserk is no defense. In Trav your guaranteed to have at least amp on at all times, if not extra fast/extra strong on at least one of the council. bad combo if your wading in there with no def. So if your set on 2h (and playing SC) then I'd definitely go the DR/PDR route. 2h beserk runing trav in HC is like playing russian roulette. I wouldn't do it without a shield and max block|||Unless you are proficient with Howl and War Cry for a Zerker in HC, what Ely said.|||Gonna do it in SC, and I'm gonna try it with berserk. Trying to gather some starting equipment right now.
Another question is, what kind of merc should I get? Would love to have Holy freeze for safety, but it would shatter corpses, so it's a no go. Doubt I will need more damage, so not sure if might is the right way to go. That leaves blessed aim if I need AR, or either defiance or barbarian just to tank some mobs.|||Quote:

Having played a Leap Attack Barb, I can guarantee that it would be a lot worse than other builds.
Frenzy is also an option. Here is a write up of a PDR based Zealot designed for Council runs. Some of the ideas may be applicable to your build.
Here is a WW based Trav running barb guide. The merc set up portion of the guide may be useful for you.
