Grief vs Death vs Lawbringer for Frenzy?

[:1]Hi,

Ok so I'm building a frenzy barb over christmas, and I had originally planned to use Death and Lawbringer. That all changed when Pindle decided to cough up a Lo. I'm now just an Um short of Grief. I could use Death and Grief but I'd be lacking Sanctuary and Decrepify or I could swap the Death for Grief but then I'd be stuck at 10% CB.

The rest of my gear as planned so far is Arreat, LoH, Treachery, Highlord, Gores, String, Raven, and Carrion wind|||I'd use Grief+Death. Put a Reaper's Toll on the merc for Decrepify.|||Griefpb + eDeathcs on main and 2x Lawbringer pb on switch.

Beats dual +3 WC sticks on switch anyday.|||Reaper's isnt a viable merc option unless enigma is used. It cant be used as a reliable damage boost without teleport. With enigma it is extremely powerful though|||Quote:

I'd like to have an explanation to that statement, please. What does Enigma have to do with the weapon the merc is using?|||The argument is that your merc gets lost/distracted/stuck too often without teleport to keep up with a frenzy barb and actually decrep what you're attacking, making the reaper generally not that useful except on act bosses and such. Whereas an aura weapon will still benefit you even if your braindead merc is punching something in a far corner of the room or is stuck in a doorway (again).|||If your merc really gets lost, you'll be out of aura range anyway. If he's nearby, but attacking other guys in the room, it would be smart of you to attack them, too, to make use of the decrep.

It definitely is more efficient if you can position your merc with teleport. But to say that it's not viable without it is nonsense.|||yes, superdave's build is viable. it is not fast however. remember, premises have to be defined for conclusions to be made, without them, people will talk past each other(as is the case here). hence the common premise of "best" being that gear/strategy/whatever which helps do a run faster than the opportunity cost would.

In the case of your "attack the guys your reapers merc is attacking" the opportunity cost is not being able to prioritize necessary monsters - like ob knights to prevent curses, summoners, whatever, as well as not being able to utilize most optimal movement paths and not have to wait for merc to de-stuck or de-glitch.

Regarding your aura range argument, my youtube barb vids are proof of opposite, i have around a dozen of them at http://youtube.com/ivar197|||Your youtube barbs use lots of duped and/or hacked items, though . There's just no way to legitly acquire 2 perfect Griefs, perfect Anni and Barb Torch (which don't exist in SP anyway), not to mention the 37 3/20/20 small charms that are all identical.

And interestingly enough, I didn't see your Pride merc getting lost on your non-Enigma barb either. So I don't see any proof that my statement was wrong.|||Grief lawbringer for me, both in PB's
